introduction. I'll never forget the moment I received that phone call, I knew that something was wrong. The minute the ringing woke me, there had to be something wrong. No one ever called me at five a.m. Before. What the voice on the other end of that line told me turned my world upside down. It's suffocated my whole life in a storm like no other I'd ever seen before uncovered extremes of anger and despair that I never knew were within me and pushed me head first into a deep depression that seemed to have no end. The news was life shattering. My best friend had died. That giddy beautiful girl, I chaired bottles of wine and heart to heart sessions with was gone. The girl that had danced with me as I celebrated the joys of life. The girl that had offered me a shoulder to cry on in an instant when things came crashing down around my ears gone. And that night, as I sat in my dim bedroom, the world squeezed the breath out of me and left me numb. How on earth could I live without her with me? What were her young kids, aged one and five, going to do without her without their kind and loving mother. And how is her husband supposed to cope after such a huge blow. It was heartbreaking. That was over two years ago now and I'm still not over it. It's like a blow to the stomach. Whenever I remember a happy incident and then remember that she's no longer with us. It hurts and I know deep down that I will never fully come to terms with her loss. Whenever a tragedy like this strikes, it feels like the world shatters into a million tiny pieces and it takes time to patch up the pieces and work out how it all fits together again. I've written this book to help you do just that, to move forward through the pain and reassemble your life on the other side as best you can contained within our stories and wisdom to help you on this path, I'll be there holding your hand through every step of the journey, so know that you will not be alone.
