For as long as I can remember, my voice has been deeper than the average girl's voice or woman's voice. I remember that time in fourth grade wanting to be a part of the sopranos in the school choir. After all, all of my girlfriends were sopranos as well. However, the music teacher promptly assigned me as an alto despite singing in the highest pitched voice, I could manage. The teacher's mind remained unchanged. And with the altos, I stayed. However, over the years, I've received numerous comments, mainly compliments on my unintentionally husky voice, although I myself am not particularly fond of it. I'm tickled with amusement that others are seemingly captivated by it.
