As warmer weather approaches, you might be spending some time in the water, whether it's at the pool, the water park or at the beach. Unfortunately, some do not take necessary precautions and face serious injuries or death. The Centers for Disease Control reports. On average, 10 people die from drowning every day in the United States, two of whom are under the age of 15. So what can you do to stay safe? Always swim with a friend, take a swimming classes needed, swim in designated areas, avoided use of alcohol, wall and water where life jacket at all times and never leave Children unattended. If there is no life guard around, swim at your own risk. If you notice someone in danger, call 911 and seek medical attention immediately. CPR and lifeguarding classes are available by the American Red Cross Association here in mid Michigan. Let's keep everyone safe this upcoming summer.
