At 55 I was an out of control diabetic with serious health problems. I had an A one C over 14 and my fasting glucose was 4 50 I also had diabetic retinopathy, early impaired cognition, chronic depression in benign prostate hyperplasia. Basically, I was a dead man walking. I'm Ken Russell, and this is my story. 18 months later, my A one c had stabilized to below six. My fasting glucose was around 90. Without medication, my eyesight was back to normal. Today, in my seventies, I'm healthier than I've been in years, maybe ever. I have great mental function, unlimited energy and use a sleep AP and document better sleep metrics than most humans. I know that you can do it, too, because others have. My wife. Linda had been a Type two diabetic on insulin for over 20 years. Within months of getting uncertain exercise and diet protocols, she was seeing fasting glucose levels under 100 and has injected no insulin for over four years. By the way, that's the savings of over $1000 per month. Staring down the gun barrel of my immortality, I knew things needed to change, or I would die. I prayed and became committed to addressing my near certain mortality with a self directed research process. I had acquired a quiet resolve to begin a journey. I began reading everything I could get my hands on. I sorted through thousands of scientific journals. I looked at diabetes, inflammation, auto immune disorders and mawr. Many of these articles were very esoteric and arcane, but I began to connect the dots. Now an important note. I'm not a medically trained doctor or Ph. D. But I learned that there was a sea of research already out there. Written by thousands of medical doctors and scientists, I gradually synthesize their thoughts and insights. Essentially standing on the shoulders of giants, I knew that the clock was ticking. I had both motive and opportunity and 18 hours a day to hyper focus on this obsession. I had been married for 13 years to a woman with PhDs in physiology, immunology and a doctorate in veterinary medicine, so I wasn't a total stranger to the medical field. In an extra twist, my mother had informed me that we shared a rare genetic condition that created an iron loading pathology. No Nas Hema chroma toe sis. With enhanced urgency, I focused my research on the effects of excess iron in the body. Serendipitously, this focus would lead to amazing insights and revelations regarding the dominant and ubiquitous role that iron plays in Type one and Type two diabetes and accelerated aging. We are inviting you to join us and take charge of your health and slow down aging. A typical diabetic will spend thousands of dollars and doctor's appointments and medications. You might even spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on amputations, heart surgeries, strokes, blindness and kidney dialysis. Diabetics, especially those with the highest iron levels, may have compromised immune systems, making them more susceptible to all manner of infections. Our mission is to take a sea of information and turn it into insight. We review the latest research, condensing and synthesizing bad information for ordinary people like you and me. We are grassroots organization funded by individuals who have diabetes or love someone who does. We're not funded by big pharmaceutical corporations or universities that may have compromised agendas. Become a founding sponsor. Member funds will be used to help us develop education programs, coaching mentorships and get the word out member benefits include education, inspiration and support, including relevant medical journal summaries, explainer videos, scientist interviews, book and program reviews, success stories, online forums and support groups.
