you are standing 500 ft below the Hoover Dam. What you are looking at is the Nevada wing of the power plant, which is over 650 ft long. These eight huge generators are responsible for harnessing much of the power that the Hoover Dam produces every day. An enormous maintenance staff services these generators continually. Each morning, they make the same journey we did down the elevator and through the 250 ft tunnel carved through the rock in the thin air of the Bryce Canyon National Park. It's hard to pace yourself and see all the parts of ravines unless you plan carefully. One of the most beautiful and isolated trails is the Fairyland Loop Trail, cutting back and forth through caves and trail edge paths. This eight mile hike allows a more intimate look at the park's formations than any other trail. Ah, those lazy summers driving with the top down, the warm weather and those classic tunes blaring on the radio. You could say that KR CFM was the soundtrack of my teenage years. The first time I heard that Beatles song, everything changed from the opening drum roll to those beautiful Yeah, yeah, yes, I was hooked. Thanks for listening. I'm Don Wimberly
