Once upon a time, there were three glamorous undercover agents who ran around with big hair and lots of lip gloss. They were assigned very hazardous duties, including chasing criminals while sporting very tight pantsuits. Now they work for me on UK TV Goal. My name is Charlie, and these are my angels. Now I've got to get back to more pressing matters. The Classic 70 Show Brand new to Gold Charlie's Angels up to Dallas on UK TV Gold. The Vietnam War was the longest military conflict in U. S. History. Still, it is in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia claimed the lives of more than 58,000 Americans, while another 304,000 were wounded. Vietnam War lasted from 1959 to 1975 involving the North Vietnamese in the National Liberation Front, in conflict with the United States forces and the South Vietnamese army. From 1946 until 1954 Vietnamese struggled for their independence from France. During the first Indochina War, a t end of this war, the country was temporarily divided into North and South Vietnam. North Vietnam came under the control of the Vietnamese communists, who had opposed friends blamed for a unified Vietnam. Under communist rule, South was controlled by Vietnamese who had collaborated with the French in 1965 the United States said in troops to prevent the South Vietnamese government from collapsing. Ultimately, the United States failed. In 1976 it officially became the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. During the conflict, approximately 3 to 4 million Vietnamese on both sides were killed. In addition to another 1.5 to 2 million Laotians and Cambodians who were drawn into the war. Vietnam War was the longest and most unpopular war America ever fought. And there's no reckoning. The cost, a toll and suffering sorrow in a rancorous national turmoil, can never be tabulated. And for many of the more than two million American veterans of the war, theme wounds of Vietnam will never heal. President Nixon would later reflect that no event in American history was more misunderstood than the Vietnam War. It was mis reported then, and it's misremembered now.
