you've probably seen calorie numbers on menus next to your favorite foods and heard about how many you should be eating in a day or burning off in a workout. But what exactly are calories and what do they mean for your individual nutrition plan? Keep watching and we'll answer all your burning calorie questions simply put calories are a measure of energy. They can refer to the amount of energy and the food and drinks you consume or how much energy you use when exercising or just carrying out daily activities. Your body needs a certain amount of calories for basic functions like keeping your heart beating and your lungs breathing. The more active you are, the more calories you need for things like taking the dog for a walk or going to the gym calories are typically talked about in terms of k cows, which stands for killer calories, calories, and K cows mean the same thing. This is the amount of energy of food or drink provides or is used up in a given activity. So where exactly do these calories? And K cows come from?
