were alive, she exclaimed. I know, but where are we? Alvin asked. You're in the goblin prison. A voice in the darkness said. The what? Alvin replied. A small girl who looked about the age of six walked out of the darkness at the end of the room. Her skin and clothes were gray. Like the rest of the land. She had straggly hair and a tired look on her face as she sat down next to Alvin. This is the Goblin prison, a prison for goblins, the girl repeated. You picked the flowers of the painted fields and fell into the quick dirt trap. The trap is used to capture goblins coming into the kingdom of color to steal the color for themselves. Alvin stood up and walked around the room. The walls of the cell were made of giant rectangular stones. Huddled all along the cold gray walls were small Children with gray skin and clothes. They ranged in age from 4 to 10. On the far end of the room was a thick wooden door with a small arched window with bars. Candle light from the other side of the door flickered dimly into the cell. The only other source of light was the lone barred window that illuminated the dust floating in the air. Goblins. Are you all goblins? Alvin prodded. A smile broke across the girl's face and giggles echoed across the room. No, silly, the girl answered. We're just kids. Goblins of fierce creatures that are 10 ft tall, with giant fangs and hair growing from the nose and ears. The girl pointed to the window and continued. Look out the window! Alvin walked over to the window and peered at the landscape. The prison was sitting at the edge of a snowcapped mountain. Those are the Shadow Mountains. Beyond them lies the land of darkness where the goblins come from. The girl described nine years ago, the goblins attacked the kingdom of color. They kidnapped the twin princesses, Gwendolyn and Sapphire, and burned down each of their castles. After that, they continued to steal the color from the land until it was nothing but gray. Now the Onley color is in the Rainbow Castle. Alvin turned to look at per me and the kids. Well, if we're not goblins, we need to get out of here and go talk to the King. Ah, quiet murmur came over the room. As the kids all looked at each other, the girl replied. This prison is guarded by the king's own Qurans and gods They cannot be reasoned with per me, sat up and smiled. This isn't anyone. This is Alvin, son of Jack! She exclaimed. Alvin smiled at. Permian nodded. He walked over to the door and knocked on it loudly. Bang, bang, bang! Hello? Open this door, please! Alvin shouted. He heard nothing. Alvin banged on the door again and heard the deep drum reverberate throughout the cell. Suddenly, Alvin heard the sound of metal clinking together. The sound was getting closer. Alvin peered through the window into the dark hallway. Around the corner came a large guard, dressed in ornate dark red armor. The guard stopped in front of the door and glared at Alvin through the bars. Alvin could not see the face of the guard behind the mask of the helmet. What are you making? Aled, this racket fall, demanded the guard. I need you to open this door, Alvin said boldly. The guards deep laugh, boomed throughout the cell, and all the Children shuddered and held each other. No one gets out of the goblin prison. No one bellowed The guard Alvin stood up tall and said confidently. But we're Children and not goblins. If this is a prison for goblins, then you need to let us go. The guard forcefully pointed it Alvin and said, This is a goblin prison and you are inside. Therefore you are a goblin. Alvin was taken aback by this strange logic. He shook his head and determinedly retorted, But I am not a goblin. Do I look like a goblin? I'm here by mistake, the guard replied. The prison guards do not make mistakes, and I say you are a goblin. Therefore you are a goblin, but I do not look like a goblin, Alvin explained. I am not 10 ft tall. I do not have fangs and I do not have hair growing from my nose and ears. Therefore, I am not a goblin, so you must let me out. But you have stolen color, the guard answered. I can smell the color you have from here. Only goblin steel color. Therefore, you must be a goblin. Alvin was starting to get very frustrated. Listen, I am telling you that I am not a goblin, so you must let me out. Only a goblin would deny being a goblin, the guards stated plainly. Okay, fine. I'm a goblin. Now open the door, Alvin said sarcastically. I knew it. You just admitted you are a goblin, the guard replied. I will not let you out. So stop bothering me with that. The guard turned and walked away. Alvin's jaw dropped, and he turned to per me and the kids. I told you they wouldn't let you out, the girls stated, dejected. Alvin walked over and slumped down by per me, he looked at the ground, thinking for a moment, a spark of inspiration shot through Alvin's head, and he raised his head in confidence. Well, if they won't let us out, then we will need to get ourselves out, he declared.
