Shirley Lyndon Baines was not trying to appease us with one funky Voting Rights Act. There were a plethora of other problems in the hood. I have yet to figure out how the black community is supposed to deal with police brutality. Whether my family was down with my views or against them, I had to write down how I felt about the issues of the day in ways where they could understand why I have left this Democratic Party. This particularly pertains to the abandonment I felt from the Democratic Party that had a way of flip flopping on issues as they pertain to the black community to get on board the week's topic. Abandonment of issues concerning blacks to serve illegal aliens or fuss about control made me angry because from then to now I am still looking for the help wagon to arrive. When you get this age, it is no longer necessary to conform to appease family members or friends. Whether you can identify with me or not know that your voice is important when you vote, I am reminded never to be afraid to step out of the box, to claim what is yours because we do not, Oh, the Democratic or Republican Party allegiance if they refuse to be consistent about alleviating the travails of poverty and other issues related to the poor.
