Anthony Gaspipe Casso was a notorious mobster who rose to power in the New York mafia in the 19 eighties, his ruthless tactics and cunning intelligence made Casso one of the most feared and respected figures in the criminal underworld. But it was his role in the infamous mafia cops case that made Casso a household name. He had been working as an FBI informant and it provided information that led to the arrests of several high ranking members of the New York Police Department who had been working with the Mob Castle's cooperation with the FBI eventually led to his downfall. He was arrested and sentenced to life in prison for his role in multiple murders and other crimes. Despite his notoriety, Casso remained unrepentant until the end. He died in prison in 2020 leaving behind a legacy of violence and corruption that continues to haunt the criminal underworld to this day.
