high above the calm sea in the crow's nest of the R. M s Titanic sailor rubbed his tired eyes. Midnight was approaching as he scrutinised the horizon. Suddenly, a huge grey shape called his gaze. This heart begin to race as he sounded the alarm. There was an iceberg, and it was dead ahead. When the Titanic said say, on its maiden voyage in April 1912 it was the largest passenger ship in the world. Built in Belfast, Northern Ireland, it's set new standards in luxury. It had a gym, a library, beautiful banqueting rooms on a huge ballroom. The lineup is carrying more than 2000 passengers, ranging from some of the world's richest people on a pleasure cruise to pull people bound for a new life in America. The ship was only four days into its voyage when the iceberg was spotted. At first, the impact didn't seem too major. It was described like the tearing of calico, but collision made a hole in the Titanic below the water line. It took less than three hours for the ship to fill with water and vanish beneath the icy waves. There was not enough lifeboats. The water was freezing, and only one other ship came to help the Titanic, resulting in 1517 souls perishing the ship that had been described as unsinkable proved to be all to sink a ball.
