Fraser Island faces the Australian eastern coast of Queensland, north of Brisbane. This island is 120 kilometres long. It's an oasis of calm, full of natural wonders, refuge for a great number of rare species. Being Australia's biggest sandy island, it was awarded the label World Heritage Protected Area in 1992 a status that puts it on an equal level with, for example, the Grand Canyon.
