The Thursday night game took a toll on the Saints roster. Running back Alvin Camaro was knocked out early with an injury, and later defensive captain safety Kenny Vaccaro went down with an injury. New Orleans did a great job battling through the injuries. The Saints got outstanding play from the rookie cornerback Marshawn Lattimore, who was assigned with covering Julio Jones most of the game. Lattimore made a beautiful interception while covering Jones one on one deep in New Orleans territory to keep three points off the scoreboard for the Falcons, the game came down to the final seconds. The Saints drove the ball into the red zone, trailing 22 17 with a minute 25 left to play.
