When you think of the best beaches in America, you probably picture the palm trees of Hawaii or the bombing shores of Southern California. Here, on the southern tip of Lake Michigan, you'll find a stretch of beach so beautiful you'll forget about anywhere else. This is Indiana Dunes, National Lakeshore. At the time of the Revolution, there were many great minds in Colonial America Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, James Madison. But when it came time to write their mission statement and defined their path as a nation, they turned to a gifted 33 year old delegate named Thomas Jefferson. The young writer did not disappoint. 4.5 1,000,000,000 years ago, Planet Earth finally took shape during its initial formation radiation from a supernova nearly liquefied the planet, causing heavy material to sing lighter matter to rise. This process eventually formed the earth's core mantle crust and today's breathable atmosphere. It was the last day of their last summer before going off to college. Like so many times before, the two friends drove to the busy airport to watch the planes. But this time was different. It felt like the end of something they both knew right then, their lives.
