would you be happy if I gave you a free scoop of ice cream? If you're like me, you're yelling Yes please! Now please as you hold out your hands. How about if I offered you a double scoop? Nice. Right, well if you like that, how would you feel if I presented you with a gigantic hot fudge ice cream sundae with several scoops of different flavors, yum ng toppings, fresh bananas and strawberries on the side with a huge piles of whipped cream and cherry on top. Now all you ice cream haters be quiet, let me make my point. A scoop is great. Right, two scoops make you do the happy dance but a big sunday is just plain awesome, allow me to share with you an example. I experience that illustrates true joy. When I was in high school, my boyfriend dale joined the church. What a wonderful scoop of ice cream. It was awesome and delicious to my soul. It was an amazing experience to go through the missionaries discussions with him, sit next to him in seminary and church discover answers to both of our questions and grow up spiritually together, delicious ice cream, incomprehensible joy. I highly recommend it. When Dale turned 19, he was called to serve a mission. I was so excited for him and couldn't wait to write to my missionary. I was so proud of him and I discovered an increasing amount of joy in reading about his experiences and watching him deepen his understanding of the gospel and love for the savior while he served his mission past the double scoop of ice cream, I felt more than happiness. I felt an abiding joy that I knew was eternal. Now here comes the really good part Win Dale was almost finished with his mission. I received a very special letter in the mail. It was from a teenager who had been baptized by dale. He submitted his own mission papers and had just received a call to serve its own full time mission. In the letter, he thanked me for being brave and teaching dale about the gospel of jesus christ. When we were teenagers, I cannot even describe the depth of joy. I felt to know that my meager missionary efforts with my boyfriend in high school had rippled out to include this stranger who would then go on to teach others. My heart almost burst that my dear friends is a hot fudge sundae. There is no joy equal to that of bringing others to christ as you share the gospel with others. You learn to love them as the Savior does. Remember when Alma and the Sons of moses a a went on a mission? Well, of course, you don't remember that you weren't there silly goose. Remember reading about their adventures in the Book of mormon. You can tell they were great missionaries because of the pure love they felt for the people, even for the Rotten Lehman knights who were so awful to them In Mo's AA 28 3. It says now they were de serious that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish. Yeah, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble.
