once an animal arrived safely at the veterinary hospital. Their first stop will be the treatment room, where we have equipment to safely handle and examine animals of all species and sizes, from a meerkat to a lioness to a reticulated python and more to ensure the safety and welfare of our staff and patients. Many animals are kept under anesthesia while being examined. While the animal is under anesthesia, it is closely monitored for things such as heart rate, oxygen levels, the rhythm of the heart and temperature. During a routine exam, the veterinarian will be looking at the animal's eyes, ears, mouth, teeth and feet. It will also listen to the animals, heart and lungs, and look at the animals overall body condition and appearance. Once in exams complete, the team may collect samples that could include blood, urine or feces to be analyzed either in house or sent to an offsite laboratory. If it's necessary, they can also perform diagnostic, such as an X ray or ultrasound to get more information about the animals. Health
