Hello and welcome back to inversion addicts. Today. We're going to be continuing our which one's better series by putting iconic Blackpool Pleasure Beach up against Storm Chaser at Colton's Park. So let's get into it now before we get started. I appreciate these coasters aren't exactly like for like, but with them both being new additions to the UK within the last few years and, of course, both manufactured by Mack rides, I thought I'd only be right to stick these two coasters head to head and see which one's better. So let's kick things off with Icahn over at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, I can open to the public on the 25th of May 2000 and 18 and cost a whopping £16.25 million upon its opening. It was the first example of a Mac multi launch coaster we'd seen in the U. K. And was the first brand new bespoke roller coaster to be featured at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. In almost 25 years, Icahn features two launches, a top speed of 52.8 MPH and an outstanding layout that weaves in and out of the Big One steeplechase and, of course, not forgetting the Big Dipper, with which it creates some amazing near misses. Now Icon isn't the fastest or most thrilling coaster you can find in the U. K. But with a fantastic lay out, some awesome near misses and that master class engineering by Matt Rides. For me, it's always the first ride on my list whenever I visit Blackpool. Pleasure Beach. So next up, let's take a look at the competitor Storm Chaser Over at Colton's Park. Storm Chaser opened to the public on the 12th of April 2000 and 21 stood at the cost of £12 million to the park. Storm Chaser is the first example of a Mack rides spinning coaster that we've seen in the UK and with a height restriction of only one metre. For me, this has to be one of the most thrilling and fun family coasters. Personally, I've ever ridden. The ride, which is located in the brand new area Tornado Springs, is one of the best themed areas in the U. K. And for me it has to be the win. In addition, for 2021 the whole ride area looks absolutely unbelievable. And on my first visit this year, in 2021 I was overwhelmed by the attention to detail in the area and this outstanding coaster that's been added to the U. K's lineup. The ride stands at a height of 65.6 ft. That's 20 metres and you're going to hit a top speed of around 37 MPH. The ride features a great little layout and awesome downward to Alex, and with the spinning cars, it really packs a punch. So that being said, I think it's time for me to make my decision. Icahn vs Storm Chaser Which one's better? And although Icahn is the main coaster at my home park and for me, I think it does have a better layout overall with theme ng right experience and that attention to detail that I mentioned. It's a close call, but for me, Storm Chaser just takes the victory. Now, of course, I absolutely love icon. It was a fantastic addition to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and I think that really speaks volumes to how much I enjoyed Storm Chaser. For me, it's a must ride in the UK's lineup of coasters and It's a fun, enjoyable coaster for everyone from the younger enthusiast to the veterans like myself. So that being said, this isn't meant to take anything away from either coaster. It's just a bit of fun. And these are my opinions, and I'd love to hear yours. Have you been looking enough to try out Storm Chaser this year? And what are your thoughts on iconic Blackpool? Pleasure Beach?
