Our planet lives, it breathes and thrives. Thanks to healthy forests. The forest in central Africa neutralize 1.1 billion tons of emissions and regulate rainfall across the continent. Without these forests, the rains won't come. Agriculture cannot continue, the rivers dry up and our world heats up. Most rainforests across the globe are disappearing due to human activities such as large scale farming. However, in central Africa, millions of small scale farmers already suffering the effects of climate change survive by slashing and burning trees to make room for crops. But this cycle can be broken. Payments for environmental services provide incentives that encourage people to change how they use their land communities, determine their zoning plan, leaving space for nature and human activity. A contract is made once adhered to and verified a cash or in kind payment is made combined with access to technology and financial resources. People can grow more food using existing farmland together with governments and our partners. The Central African Forest initiative can help millions of people in rural areas earn regular revenue for the environmental services. They provide supporting payment for environmental services in central Africa means supporting everyone. The people the forests and our planet.
