Description

This Audiobook Narration demo highlights reads from four (4) different genres:

1) POP FICTION - MULTIPLE CHARACTERS (0:00 - 1:27) From my narration of the pop fiction urban paranormal fantasy authored by a very bright and witty Roland Yeomans. This excerpt features the voices of Marlene Dietrich, Mark Twain, Gregor Strasser, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall (transpiring, of course, in a parallel universe). Quite a smorgasbord of voices here.

2) FICTION - SOUTHERN CHARACTERS (1:29 - 2:59) A good example of my storytelling style and characterization (Southern dialect) from a work of fiction. This reading from the Pulitzer-prize-winning novel by Edward P. Jones shows the strained relationship between former slave Henry Townsend and William Robbins, Henry's former owner and the most powerful man in Manchester County Virginia.

3) BIOGRAPHY (3:00 - 3:41) An example of my narration style for biographies and memoirs. This excerpt from the biographical novel by Irving Stone gives us a glimpse into the heart of arguably the greatest criminal defense lawyer who ever stepped into a courtroom. Many biographies may require subtle character voices, which I am very comfortable doing. Listen to the end of this sample, for example, as I give voice to the lawyer who once said, "I may hate the sin, but never the sinner."

4) THRILLER - MALE & FEMALE VOICES (3:43 - 5:23) Another example of my storytelling style in a tense scene between a male and female. The young woman, a demure housewife by day and a different woman by night, lives a secret life. The man, handsome, muscular, with intense blue eyes, is every woman's dream. But he is deeply damaged, and inside lurks a monster just waiting to be released. When the young woman pursues him, it begins to push a deeply-buried rage to the fore and he becomes determined to punish her. This scene takes place in the woman's living room, after she has reluctantly taken the man back to her home.
