three extractive fossil fuel industry is stepping up their shady tactics, and they're not just engaging in big federal elections. They're here. Their tactics and spending demand that we not take any election for granted. In 2019 we have local elections with huge consequences. We need to stop fossil fuel companies from building infrastructure that locks us into outdated energy sources of the past. We need smart forest management to combat climate change. We're running out of time to protect Puget Sound, and we know the climate crisis is here. We know the policy solutions. What we need is political action. In 2018 we elected Mawr environmental champions to the Legislature than ever before, which ensured the largest number of environmental bills to be passed in the law in Washington state history. Now we're working to build environmental majorities at every level counties, cities and ports. Every elected official has the responsibility to use the full power of their office to address the climate crisis and do what the federal government is failing to do.
