Hello and welcome to the poise and grace living, lavish podcast. My name is Amelia, and I will be your host. Now let's dive right into our very first topic. So the topic today is what is luxury Now? I'm sure you've heard a lot of people say I want to live a life full of luxury. I want to live a luxurious life. So what exactly is a luxury? Luxury could mean one thing to you and me in a completely different thing to the next person. Now the Oxford Dictionary describes luxury as a state of great comfort or elegance. This includes being rich, wealthy and living a life of great comfort. This is quite interesting because luxury is defined as many different things to many different people. And I think we can all agree that because luxury is so versatile, it's very hard to define it in one category. But this is only because it means so many different things to so many different people around the world. It is very clear that there is no standard definition of what luxury is. For some, luxury simply means quality time spent with family and friends or even material possessions, some of which may be one of a kind. And for others, it might just be a memorable experience and for plenty more in the world, Luxury simply means having the basic necessities that we have in our homes today and take for granted every single day. I'm sure we all know that luxury items are usually very pricey or very expensive, and sometimes they can be rare or one of a kind or just unique in itself. Let's be honest. When you heard the word luxury, the first thing that came to mind was expensive or high value. And I'm sure by now you have a little well known brands come into mind. Luxury is constantly evolving and changing, and what was seen as luxurious in the eighties is definitely not seen as luxurious now. But what if I told you luxury does not have to be expensive? In fact, what if I told you luxury does not have to cost a penny? What if I told you luxury starts with you? It's not about the clothes you wear or the fancy perfumes you put on or the nice bags with nice shoes you have. It's not about any of that. Those are just extra. Once you start taking care of yourself from the inside out, you will start glowing and you'll start to ooze out luxury. You will start to look luxurious way before you buy those extra things to make you feel luxurious on the outside. Once you start working on the inside of you and you're being luxurious to your mental health, your self care and all these other things, you will start to ooze out luxury. Just your presence alone will start to look luxurious to people you know. A lot of people think that all they need to do is buy that luxurious bag and have that nice perfume and get their hair down by the clothes and that's it. They're going to look luxurious, but it doesn't work that way. I mean, you might look really nice and smell good and all of that stuff, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, you haven't really worked on yourself. So think of it like this. Think of it as someone who's really going through it and they're really depressed. But they're just putting on this brave face and pretending that everything's fine when it's really not so. Someone who's putting on a FARC aid and acting like everything is all glitz and glamour when it's really and truly not the case. That is pretty much what it looks like when you don't do the groundwork and you don't work on your internal self. So if that's the look you want to go for, then make sure you're working on the inside before you work on the outside. If you want to be that babe, that girl, that girl that stands out, then make sure you're taking care of your physical, your mental and your internal, all of these things before you even get started with the materials you know The reason why celebrities have such an impact on people is because of how they make them feel. People always remember how you make them feel, so it's important to learn to treat others how you want to be treated. But this is something you learn over time, so don't rush it because it's a journey. So stop being good to yourself. First luxury is rare, and so are you. Everyone cannot be you and not everyone should have access to you you have to understand that luxury starts from you, and you are the definition of luxury. I think the biggest takeaway here is luxury can't be everything to everyone. Once you know your work and think highly of yourself, it will already ate on the outside of you. So get to know yourself and learn about who you are as a person. And if you find that there are things that you don't really like about yourself, then take the necessary steps to change that. But just remember, it is a journey, so just take baby steps every single day. Being luxurious will always start from the inside before it gets to material things, and you can still be luxurious without material things. Being luxurious to yourself starts with getting rid of all the one sided relationships and all the people who do not respect your boundaries and also learned to appreciate the little things in life because to someone else you already live in a luxurious life, even with the little things you have, even if you think otherwise. So whatever your definition of luxury is, just remember it is not out of reach as long as you will get your internal self first, Simply work from the inside out because you confessed before all material things. And remember, if you are ever denied access, create your own lane Number nine.
