This state of the art facility is the first and only freestanding Children's hospital in Israel and the largest of its kind in the Middle East. In the 19 eighties, Irving and Helen Schneider saw the need for an independent hospital solely dedicated to Children. Since then, the Schneider family and other committed donors have contributed over 140 million to support the construction programs, and service is at the Children's Medical Center. Today, Schneider Children's is one of the leading pediatric centers in the world. Today, the Schneider family carries on this legacy through the Children's Health Alliance for Israel, the mission of the alliances to support state of the art treatment Research and teaching programs at the medical center. Now more than ever is a moment of opportunity and urgency. The alliance and the hospital team are embarking on a journey of innovation into the areas of childhood cancer, diabetes, mental health, food allergies and other complex health needs. Facing Children. Dr Shaw is really a pioneer in cancer research and treatment is launching the Institute for Future Precision Cancer Medicine. For the young Dr Moshe Philip has been a Trailblazer and diabetes treatment. Using an artificial pancreas for Children that automatically monitors and delivers insulin. Dr Philip is now developing the digital diabetes center that will incorporate thes devices and other new technologies. To revolutionize the way we care for diabetes patients, Dr Silvana Finnic is committed to bringing about a fundamental shift in the way we approach child psychiatry through integrating mental and emotional health toe all fields of medical care. Approximately 10% of Children have some form of food allergy. Dr. Abraham Begelman is fighting to change this alarming trend through the establishment of a new center for food, allergy, treatment, research and education. What sets these innovations of part is the unique focus on lab to bedside research, meaning that unsolved problems of sick Children will be transferred directly to the lab and the research applied back to the treatments right there at the hospital. From there, such innovations can be shared and scaled throughout Israel and worldwide. A new wing of the hospital is being completed with investment from the Children's Health Alliance for Israel and will house these and other programs.
