Hello listeners. My name is Fatima johnson and this is my mouth of the mecca. Okay, boom. The topic of this segment is intersectionality, intersectionality, intersectionality. What is it according to google intersectionality is an analytic framework that attempts to identify how the locking systems of power impact those who are most marginalised in society. That's a lot. But if you ask me, intersectionality is simply being caught up in many different things at once and that's okay, is a confusion? Is it madness? It's neither, it's intersectionality. So what if I am a black one, isn't it? Risk intersectionality has many different shades because it's a mix of so many different things. They're psychoanalytic, intersectionality, racial intersectionality and let's not forget sexual intersectionality. I could really go on and on intersectionality takes into account people's overlapping identities and experiences in order to understand the complexity of prejudice, attitudes. Think of it as a freeway intersection and how the many different paths eventually come together at one specific point. And I think of yourself as that one specific point Which rose in your life come together to form who you are. My intersectionality is comprised of many paths. I'm a 22 year old college student on the brink of graduation and catastrophic destruction. I'm a visual ist. I love art, graphic designer. I'm a music lover, I love sound, I love sound effects, audio engineer. I'm gazing blindly at the rest of my life and it's honestly pretty scary. I'm at a crossroads where I'm trying to shed my old self and give birth to the enemy that's so much better than the current version of myself. It's important to address the role of intersectionality in our lives, intersectionality ultimately helps define who you are, what you stand for and what you believe in. Race, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, and religion are the main components of oppression that plague our society. However, I believe with a small shift and viewpoints that can be transformed from oppression to empowerment, this social phenomenon effects everyone. We have to be aware. Thank you all for listening to my insights on intersectionality. My name is Fatima johnson, and this is my mouth of the mecca.
