Mm. Harry, folks. Now, some of you may know me already, but for those who don't, I'm the sheriff here, and Vulture Creek names lawman Carl Lawman. Now, I know you all were trying to have a pleasant evening here in Dead Man Saloon, but one of my deputies is dead, and you revelers would be the only ones who could have done it. So you'll be staying here until I can sort this all out. Here's what I know so far. Y'all were here in the saloon, whooping it up and drinking and Dyson and playing poker. The music was thumping, and Peggy and the girls were making their rounds. Then the side door opened and somebody hollered that there's going to be a shootout on Main Street. Y'all rushed out to the entrance to watch, but the street was deserted. Then you heard it. Two shots ringing out from inside the saloon. When you all ran back inside, my deputy Wallich was laid out on the floor, shot through the heart and already dead. You are the Onley people who have been here tonight. So while the crowd rushed to the door, one of you must have stayed behind to do the deed. So help me figure out who dun it or you all will be spending the night in the hoosegow. Besides, the sooner y'all are cleared, the quicker you can get back to your evening. You all better study the layout of this saloon and start saying howdy to one another while I go deal with the business of getting my deputy packed up. I'll be back real soon. I got a few Mork lose for you. But first I gotta say this. I may have had my doubts about Deputy Wallick. I never dreamed of the depths of dishonesty, corruption and downright sleaziness that I've uncovered just this evening. Why it's fitting that he died here in this godless establishment with all of you. So here was this book in his cold, dead hand. Now I can't read all the entries as it looks like the murderer tour the paper trying to get the book away from him. But I can see a few things like that. It's list of debts owed to him, either in cash or in some stone cold illegal activities. The names are mostly illegible, but I'll wager that some of these indebted folks air right here in front of me. And besides this book, I got one more thing to tell y'all. It seems a deputy Wallich had a lady friend. His land lady heard him having a terrible fight late last night with a female voice. Now, that might not mean nothing, but then again, it might. That could sure use your help figuring it out. Unless, of course, a night in jail sounds cozy to you. Mhm. Looks like all y'all had a reason for wanting the deputy dead. So maybe we should be fixing on how the murder was done instead of why you all know that there was two shots fired, one still in the body and one was buried in the saloon wall. As you can see on the map, I showed you a four. Looks like the shooter was standing near the main door when they fired. I did dig the bullet out of the wall, and it was one of them silver colored bullets that are most used. My fancy shooters, they still do the job. But there might show off you. Don't you think so? Who uses them kind of bullets? What s'more who got the saloon cleared by hollering about a shootout on Main Street. Was it the deputy? Nobody recognized the voice, but maybe he disguised it. We do know the hollering came in by the side door. In that case, did somebody see him? Who was it that decided to hang back from the crowd and take the opportunity to take care of the deputy? Why don't you all discuss this and see if you can discover anything for May? Well, now you got all the same clues I found. I know who the murderer is. Do you then vote? Fill out a valid and place it in the basket. I'll be back directly to see how my answer lines up with yours. Before I say anything, Does anyone want to give me their best guess? Go right ahead and make your case. No one has anything to say. Well, then I'll just go ahead. Now, why don't you leave the little lady alone? Her words ring true. Any other accusations you'd like to throw around? Let the man be. He's speaking the truth. Anyone else wanna have a go Now you're on to something there. How about I lay it all out for the folks here. First, keep in mind that the murderer took the time to try tearing that page out of the deputies book. That's a durn good sign that the murderer was one of them. I o U's. That leaves us quite the list, but means we can rule out Whelan strong and maverick Bullock who weren't listed. Next, we need someone who used them fancy silver colored bullets, which means we can rule out serious shooters like Bernie Begum and roadie. Oh, we can also rule out one eyed Pete in his gang since they used brass bullets. And lastly, it needed to be someone who could see the deputy at the side door, which leads us toe on Lee. One person who had a view of that door. Calamity jail. I accuse you of the murder of Deputy Wallich. Confess and leave out your usual Kerson. Oh, and by the way, cast Happy Birthday
