what makes people unhappy. While animals are satisfied having their basic needs, met humans appear to need something more to be happy. People tend to attend parties or go on vacations and force themselves to be happy. But after too much to drink, only discover their true misery. We will never abolish war or mutually assured destruction. When men are so unhappy they'd rather risk death, then continue living in distress. Eliminating poverty will not end happiness, because even the rich are still unhappy has for extreme unhappiness caused by a catastrophe such as losing one's Children or coming down with a terminal disease. The author offers no solution. The author aims to discuss the kind of day today unhappiness that affects most people whose basic animal needs are already met. The author began life unhappy and suicidal, but today has realized happiness comes from learning what you truly want and pursuing these things, rejecting impossible objects of desire and above all, spending less time and energy focused on himself. Do not ask questions for which there are few or no answers. Monks are happy because they have disciplined themselves to forget their own self absorption. The center isn't one who sends, but who is focused on his send. Even when we renounce the religion of our youth, the sense of degeneracy we feel whenever we do say or think things which were considered sinful as a child remains. This man is unhappy because on one hand he has in his mind the ideal version of himself he ought to be, while on the other hand, he is truly in reality, which always falls short of the former.
