There were four of us on this trip. Bob and experienced guide and two others, Pedro and his wife, Laura, both of whom are strong adventurers from the Canary Islands who were visiting the American West for the first time. They were all experienced trekkers while I was a newbie, only having been one night car camping a few times before this trip. A typical day consisted of Bob waking us up before light enthusiastically with good morning campers. At 6:30 a.m. We ate breakfast at 7 a.m. We broke down camp, unpacked our £30 backpacks with our tent, sleeping bag, clothes, food and 2 to 3 liters of water from a nearby freshwater spring for the day's hike from 7:30 a.m. Till noon, we'd hike through the canyon floor over uneven terrain, rocks, sand, mud and cobblestones. We explored the twists and turns of the river. After a short lunch, we tackled 3 to 4 more hours of hiking with wow moments at each bend in the river
