This is the story of a small planet in space called earth. Today it has mighty oceans, scorched deserts and frozen wildernesses. It supports a multitude of diverse creatures and is home to more than seven billion people and their technological civilization. But how did this all come about? Where do we come from?

Victoria Falls, Zambia, Zimbabwe. Deep in the heart of Africa, lies an enormous wall of water spanning 1.25 miles and forming the longest unbroken waterfall in the world. Locals called it Mosi-oa Tunya, "the smoke that thunders". British explorer, David Livingstone, the 1st European to view the falls, named it after the British empire monarch of the time, Queen Victoria.

History is often defined by its epic wars. The relics left behind from those battles provide a map chronically not only the evolution of man, but also the violent rearrangement of national borders. No time period is more closely associated with the production of the tools of war and the realignment of nations than the years 1939 to 1945.
