In less than a decade, Bill Gates has accumulated over 269,000 acres of land, making him the largest private farmland owner in America. To put things in perspective that's seven times the size of Manhattan and just 5000 acres shy of Hong kong city, home to more than 7.6 million people. Over the years, Gates has been acquiring farmland across America and holding it in a wide network of shell companies through his subsidiary cascade Investment LLC. While you were locked up in home, Gates was gobbling up thousands of acres of farmland at a cheaper price. When confronted about it, he responded that his investment group chose to do this.
