e. I know. I know. Where the **** have I've been at? We'll get to it. I got some explaining to do. Oh, to you everybody who's been supporting this podcast. Let's talk about it. Your new This is the went over podcast. I am your guy with Burke coming to you after a bit of a hiatus. And after many, many questions and message is D. M's went to coming back just like you know what? I don't I don't know. I don't know if it's gonna come back. I'm No. Five. It's not about if I wanted to or not just definitely the case definitely wanted. Didn't want to stop. But it was interesting, though, And how well, let's let's let's go back. Let's go back, Let's go back. Let's let's take our time with this. So when I initially did the podcast, right, I didn't even expect anyone to listen to it. I wasn't expecting anybody to download it. Stream it. I was expecting any of that for me. I was just like, Look, I'm just going to do it, you know? I let people know. Hey, got a podcast. We kind of cool. If you check it out if you don't. I mean, it's all good. So I was really I was really just doing the podcast with me. It was kind of something that was on on my list that I wanted to do. Learn how to do it. One of the technical side and put it out because I've been listening to podcasts since 807 of in a podcast fan. And yeah, I was just like, Look, I want toe. I want to get into it like I'm curious how it works And how are you able to get it on iTunes and now Spotify and things like that. So I was like, OK, cool. Let me see how it works. And I started to put it out. I was, like, cool. And they continued, Excuse me. Every week I put something out, and slowly but surely people was trying to listen to it, which I was just like there. Are you sure about that? Are you? Listen to this thing they were like and if you were loving and supporting it and I was like, all right, appreciate it. And I kept on putting more and more out and then I guess it really started to take off. I guess once I started, noticed, like other countries were start to listen to it. That sounds like a wait a minute. I might have something here. Let me Let me really keep it going. And I did, you know, content was there. The production was getting better. And I was staying true to the original type of content that I was putting out, which was when you guys guys have been supporting from the beginning, you know, the type of stories I was talking about. And if you don't know, you may want to go back and listen to a few. I was starting lots of interesting things, you know, some subculture lifestyle, um, illegitimate activities and things like that. But that's what kind of got people interested in it. And what kind of drew an audience. So I'm just gonna keep on with the same format. But then fast forward sponsors started to kind of get involved because, I mean, for me, like, look, you know, it's free. You just downloaded. I mean, I like doing it. I'm not getting paid to do these episodes. I want to do it. It's something that you know. It was doing it really for me. So I wasn't trying to get paid. I wasn't thinking about getting money or anything like that. That was not the case at all. But then, you know, it's like, Well, let me just see how would I go about, you know, sponsorships and things like that? And how does that even work? And I did some little digging and asking a couple questions and shaking a couple hands and a couple of sponsorship starting kind of rolled through and interest actually did get a couple of sponsorships, and more and more was just really just interested in possibly doing something. All right, that's kind of cool. But the thing was, they're just like, Look what you're talking about. We don't know if we can get behind that, you know? And I'm like, Well, yeah, here, you and that's all cool. But this is what the listeners tuned in for. This is what got the listeners interested in the first place was these raw stories, and it wasn't like every episode was like this were all crazy story and even the episodes that we're talking about Well, you know, things that was talking about. There was always, like, a silver line. There's always, like a message behind it. There's always a reason why I was talking about that story, but then it was just like, Yeah, we know, but can you just kind of soften it up? And could you just be You just go a different direction. And I was just like, I mean, I guess if you does, they're willing to possibly work with me, you know? Yeah, I could do something like that. So later episodes. I started to definitely water it down. You know, the episode and I wasn't happy about them. I I didn't like putting them out necessary. I didn't like these episodes because it was I wasn't being true. And even like some my peoples that I was talking to, you know, they were just like, Man, you sure you want to start talking about this sort of thing? I'm like, I want to talk about it. I mean, you know, I'm not gonna get in trouble. Look, guys, you know these stories are 10 12 13 59 years ago. You know, I'm not implicating anybody. I'm not even really implicating myself. And like I said, the century limitation, you know, protects me anywhere. So and that's what I wanted to talk about these things. I wanted to bring you in a world that a lot of people don't know about if they're experienced or only seen in movies and TV. And it's a part of my life that was a big part of my life at one point and a lot of people, parties ever involved in it. You know, I consider them my friends, and these are people that I really grew up with. And I'm still in touch with a lot of, um, and these people that I do know, you know, since 95 96 98. You know, I'm still in touch with them and still call them to this day, you know? So I wanted to bring into this world because it is an interesting world. Then there's a lot of things that you can pull from it, and there's a lot of things by the lessons you can learn things to do and things not to do the mind frame. And you know how shifting directions in your life kin can go different ways very quickly, you know, One, one. Decision One. One. Yes. You know, or one No. Or you go left. Consider, Writer. You take this trip and they can just offset your whole life, you know? And you have to be diligent enough to say, OK, if I want to go down this path I got except the constant question consequences. And if I am in this lifestyle, Well, what if I don't want this anymore? What if I do want to get out? You know, can I walk away, Gonna be strong enough to walk win? And he was just one of many things that I was talking about during these episodes. But then I started to cater to the sponsors and the potential sponsors. So I was watering down the stories. You know, the stories wasn't is raw, wasn't it's hard. And I was talking about things that I don't know about. Like, I'm starting to talk about current events, and there's going in these weird directions that, you know, if you know me in person, you know, I'm not into this stuff like, you know, that's not the type of things that I'm trying to talk about but I was trying to appease the sponsors, you know, because yet now there dangling a we can give you this amount. We'll we'll pay for this, so we'll cover that, you know? Well, cut this kind of check. And now I'm like, OK, well, I want I want the check. Like, Yeah, I would Yeah. I wouldn't mind having a little, little some that end of the month to keep this thing going, you know, im But I wasn't staying true to number one to me. Was this thing true to you guys? The listeners who've been supporting it and I kind of was that like a crossroad where it's like, OK, do I want to keep being fake and get the check, you know, or do I just want to continue to do what initially got me to this dance in the first place was talk about this stuff that I talk about keep it is raw. Just keep it my style. Just keeping me, keep it true. And I was just going back and forth, and it just got to the point where I just didn't almost just didn't want to do it at all, because I was just at this weird, weird crossroads where I didn't know what I want to do with it. And I just felt I was being phony on one side within on the other side. It's like I wanted to get the money, you know, or the opportunities to. And it gets deeper, like when it starts getting until, like, sponsorships. And it starts getting to, like, brands and, you know, starting to work with different brands. It's this whole other side of the game when it comes to podcasts. Why, you know, yes, everyone is have a podcast now, but the potential and what it can do for your business or yeah, you know, your business. Just even you know, for yourself. You know, it does have a lot of opportunity, does have potential. And I was starting to see that, and I didn't know it did. I didn't know it had all of that. I like I said before, I was just doing this podcast for me. It was really just more like a a journal that I'm just like here. It's out. I just have these things to get off my chest bone and maybe, you know, 2030 years from now, it will be uncovered, and people can tell my story and things like that. That's really was the goal. But then once the sponsor started coming to play, you know, I'm not. I'm starting to switch the stories around. I'm starting, like, just not be true. And I didn't like a lot of those episodes, so it was like, You know what? I'm just gonna have to just take a break and just try to figure it out, you know? I mean, obviously the break took longer than I wanted Teoh, But I was just tired, like I just didn't you know, I just had all these different because it was getting serious, Like, you know, they wanted to really offer me some substantial opportunities that nothing. Oh, it's gonna just changed my life instantly and, you know, things like that. But it definitely was some opportunity. Where? Okay, this kid, you kind of kind of help thrive here, but I would have to keep up this front and have to keep up this act for the course of the podcast. I didn't know if I wanted to do that. And I was I don't know, if I want to do it to the people who have been listening since Episode one, and that's really what I would have turned into I was doing before was only for the people who really were supporting it from the get go and you know, current supporters who were coming on board. And he's telling me like Yeah, you know, way like that. We like these stories. You want to hear more of them. That's who I wanted to do it for. But then I got I got sidetracked that blindsided. So you know the sound just like, how could I? First I was thinking, Maybe, should I just do a different podcast, a completely separate podcast within Excuse the dog and then out like Okay, if I do that now, it's like I'm starting all over again and trying to build it back up, you know? Or do I want to just just go back to how it wasn't just continue to do the podcast, how it I initially started in which what got me to the dance in the first place? So all these different things I've been thinking about and just trying to figure it out And how could I? How could I just make it work and, you know, still get the sponsorships. You know, I wouldn't mind still getting that. You know this thing? I'm not getting paid for it. Guys, let's just be clear about that. This is you know, this is definitely ah, freebie here, but, um, you're trying to figure out how could I do it? And it's like, Look, then a day I just came through Realization I cannot be fake. I cannot pretend to be something that I'm not because it does not. I can't keep it up for very long. That's one thing. I tried to do it. I tried to just have this sort of facade about me, and it just gets tired. I get bored of it. And eventually, I just It just doesn't work. And it would have happened with this podcast. I would have kept it going, Been fake, been soft with stories, you know? And eventually I just been like, you know what this thes episode of Just straight trash now. So I came that really realization Like, Look, I got to go back to being me. I gotta go back to what gets me excited, What gets me motivated, and I can't think about because I don't care about what people think of me in real life. I can't think about what people think be on on my podcast, because that then that you just don't have to listen to it. And regardless, if I get a sponsor, I don't get a sponsor. Whatever the case may be or, you know, whatever. Like, whatever the outcome is, I just have to eat. I just have to wear, you know, so just like screw this. I'm just gonna go back to what I how I envisioned this podcast to being what I wanted to deal with them. We're just gonna get back to how he used to do it. Guys like, I'm back, we're gonna have fun again. The stories we're gonna get crazier. And I'm just gonna Yet we're just gonna come back to how we used to do it every week.
