New York, New York, US
Alan Safier has a mid-range, decidedly non-announcery voice -- warm and compassionate, trustworthy and authoritative, friendly and approachable, sincere, empathetic and intelligent, believable and likable. Particularly good at talking directly to the listener, one-on-one. Age range: early 40s- late 50s. A definite texture to the voice.
Very funny, great with dialogue, and able to do a lot of dialects and character voices. Lots of Guy-Next-Door types, Dads, Husbands, Bosses. Also does a lot of health care spots -- his voice has that reassuring feeling to it.
He's also a trained singer, and has performed principal roles in over 25 musicals. Safier's vocal range is bari-tenor, and he's put his singing skills to use on many spots.
Dialects include (but are not limited to): New York, Brooklyn, American Southern, American Midwest, Standard British, Cockney, French, Italian, Indian, Irish, Russian, German, Hungarian and Yiddish.
He has been touring the US in the one-man show "Say Goodnight Gracie" as George Burns for the past eight years and tours with "Humbug!", his one-man musical version of "A Christmas Carol" during the holidays.

Alan Safier has been everything from the Kibbles 'n' Bits Dog to the voice of Turbo Tax. He's a theatre/television/film actor, so he approaches every voice over as if it were a role in a play or movie. He's THE guy if they want "real and natural," and if they don't want it too "announcer-y" or too "sell-y."
He booked his first voice over job when he was 18. In the ensuing years, he's done nearly 1,000 voice-overs.
Over the past 30 years, Safier has taught v/o workshops and has coached privately. He currently teaches v/o in New York City at Working Actor Studio.
Safier received an MFA in Acting at Ohio University, and studied acting in New York with Wynn Handman and Beatrice Straight.
He has taken dozens of voice-over workshops with the likes of Cathy Kalmenson, Dick Orkin and Susan Blu. He teaches voice-over at theatre festivals and universities across the U.S.
