Mark Kalita

This year (2012) marks my 10th year in the Internet audio drama community. During that time my voice has invaded thousands of iPods across the planet and helped me forge great friendships with many wonderful people. It has also brought me opportunities to work with assorted great writers and directors to help me hone my craft and keep me from the shadows of obscurity. It even gained me the unofficial moniker of Internet audio's "Kevin Bacon" on The Sonic Society after a listener called in to marvel at how often he heard me in a production or had known people who had worked with me -- or worked with people who had worked with me to assorted degrees of separation. Come to think of it, I've even had the pleasure of helping found two fantastic audio groups which went on to spawn even more.

I have played a variety of action heroes in sci-fi and old time pulp radio settings and am noted for character impersonations of Roddy McDowell, John Huston, Jack Nicholson, Sean Connery, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Christopher Lee, Patrick Stewart, Brian Blessed, John Rhys Davies, Ewan MacGregor (as Alec Guinness), Tom Baker & Kurt Russell.

My most frequently requested characters include: Italian/American gangsters, noir detectives, snooty Englishmen, various fantasy characters (sorcerers, barbarians, etc.), surfer dudes, anime characters, action heroes, grizzled ex-soldiers, regular Joes, cowboys, fanboys, mysterious enigmatic characters, punk rockers, small town sheriffs, assorted aliens and strange supernatural creatures.

"Mark is an exceptional voice actor with a wide range of accents and deep talent. He has the ability to bring many a varied character to life through use of his voice alone."

Timothy Gillick: Filmmaker, Journalist, Owner, Circus-13 Productions

"When I was producing an audio version of "The Prisoner: Shattered Visage", I needed someone to play the key role of Number Two. Mark Kalita delivered a marvellous performance that evoked the spirit of Leo McKern.
That is typical of Mark, who is an excellent voice artist and has regularly played a variety of lead roles in several Broken Sea Audio Productions. He approaches the scripts with intelligence and a good actor's instinct."

Gareth Preston: Westlake Films (UK)

Having worked with him for nearly five years developing, writing and producing audio productions gave me a greater understanding to his level of commitment to ongoing projects and new initiatives. Mark is one of those truly dedicated individuals who gives his all to projects both new and old, and maintains his level of commitment through to completion.
It has been an honor and a true pleasure to work with Mark on so many projects and I look forward to further collaboration with him in the future."
