Listeners describe my voice as mellow; articulate; comfortably reassuring; definitive; authoritative; relaxed and trustworthy.
While relatively new to the world of VO, I'm well familiar with both the medium of radio broadcasting and public speaking. I've been a public speaker for more than 10 years, predominantly within the medical community where I focused on "preventing burnout and finding wellbeing."
Even before my few years in radio prior to starting my career track in medicine, I have been enamored with the art of narration, especially historical documentary. I love reading aloud and, as I became more of an established speaker, began incorporating more recitation and dramatization into my presentations, veering away from the "tried and true" (but awfully boring) didactic style.
My goal is to continue to refine my skills as a VO artist and perhaps focus on documentary style pieces ad medical / scientific narration.

Though new to VO, I am comfortable in the studio and on shoots. I have been interviewed for a variety of pieces pertaining especially to psychological problems of combat (e.g. PTSD). Much earlier in my career journey (prior to med school), I worked as a booth announcer and produced a variety of spots. The work taught me the value of articulating clearly and helped me develop a comfort with mics, headsets and various consoles. I loved the challenge of reading copy convincingly and then adding music or sound effects. I'm happy to say, I did not retain any of the classic "announcer" style, though I can do a pretty good caricature of it.
I have a well-worn MD, recently retired, and plan to now use it in my VO work.
I'm not yet in any performance or industry-related organizations, though plan to explore and join soon.
