My voice is naturally soft, but after years of vocal performance as a lead R&B/funk singer I've gained the ability to project and capture subtle nuances at will.
I was born and raised in Barbados until the age of 18, and after years of living in the United States and the UK, my resting accent may best be described as transatlantic and perhaps somewhat mysterious! However, I am able to speak fully in my Bajan accent when I wish to, and can provide a very convincing American accent.
Too often, Barbadian characters are cast with Jamaican accents or dreadful imitations of generic Caribbean tones... it's a fatal error which can be easily avoided by choosing an authentic voice. Adding a less obvious, yet wholly genuine West Indian characterisation gives your project an undeniable advantage!
