Michael Wex is a New York Times bestselling author and one of the originators of adult storytelling in Toronto. He has worked extensively in storytelling, spoken word, radio, voice overs and audio books. Although generally assumed to be American, Michael is a native of Southern Alberta and is thoroughly at home in both standard and western Canadian dialects. Michael won a 2008 Audiofile Earphones Award for the audiobook Just Say Nu, which he also wrote. He was for many years a regular on such CBC radio programs as Cloud Nine and Metro Morning. He can be heard in the recent documentaries Deli Man and Theodore Bikel: In the Footsteps of Sholem Aleichem.
He is a sought-after MC for top-level klezmer concerts and has appeared twice in this role at Carnegie Hall.
