Have you heard Pam's smooth "operator voice" before?
Pam's warm, personable, friendly and authoritative voice has been heard by millions both in the U.S. and abroad since 1993 as Pam has been MCI's English operator voice on products such as 1-800-COLLECT, Calling Cards and Prepaid Cards, and Directory Assistance and more. (Verizon purchased MCI in 2006 and Pam continues to record various operator products such as prepaid cards and more.) Her "operator voice" has been featured in radio and television campaigns and even in the movie, "Big Daddy". Her voice for Directory Assistance has been featured on “The Sopranos”. Pam's voice is heard on MCI's (now Verizon's) "The Neighborhood" Message Center (voice mail) as well as VOIP company SunRocket's voice mail product and SunRocket's customer service / audio on hold.
If you hear Pam's "operator voice" on radio, TV, or film, be the first person to let her know and you could win dinner for two valued up to $50. When you contact her, let her know as much information as possible:
· Date and time
· Channel or station
· Name of the production or show
· If in a film or TV, the character placing or receiving a phone call
· How far into the piece it appears
If you report a finding and she hasn't already been contacted and compensated for the piece, you will receive a free dinner.
"I speak the way I'd want to hear someone speaking to me at the other end -- kind, professional, and pleasant," says Pam about the approach she takes to recording as an official “operator voice”.
Before her lengthy experience with Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems, Pam was a familiar voice to listeners of four CCM-formatted radio stations in the Baltimore / Washington, D.C. area. For ten years, Pam honed her personable delivery as an afternoon drive announcer, co-host of Musically Speaking, newsreader, and spokesperson. Pam is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Radio, Television & Film.
Pam’s in-home studio with quality audio components offers the capability to record studio-quality work directly to the computer. The digital audio workstation studio allows Pam to upload voice files to her website in order to facilitate client downloads. Secure password protection is available. Pam looks forward to the opportunity to add her warm and friendly voice to your next project.
“I have been working with Pam closely for nearly nine years to produce scripts heard by millions of our customers around the world every day. Not only is the talent quality of her voice excellent, but she herself is an excellent individual who is accommodating and easy to work with. Her services are highly regarded in the telephony industry.”
Sr. Network Engineer
“When searching for warmth and personality without loosing the required vocal authority needed for our NASA contract, Pam was the only choice that came to mind.”
“Words on a page are lifeless until they are lifted off the page by imagination or the human voice. Pam Bassett breathes life into copy and scripts. Her communication skills continue to mature in ways that make her a valuable asset to anyone searching for a compelling vocal presentation that evokes a positive response.”
Pam has been fortunate to be MCI's English operator voice since 1993 on various telecom products (including 1-800-COLLECT, prepaid cards, calling cards, voice mail and more). Some of them continue on in Verizon's name since Verizon acquired MCI in 2006. Pam has learned a lot about the unique nature of voice response and audio on hold.
Although Pam's voice can be heard around the world daily through these operator services products such as MCI's/Verizon Business's "The Neighborhood" Message Center (voice mail), Pam's voice is now available in your "neighborhood" via FTP and MP3 from her home studio.
She is also available to record in the Washington, D.C. area (encompassing Maryland and Northern Virginia).
