Rich, melodic mezzo soprano voice. Very bright and cherry on messages for answering services; enunciates and speaks clearly; can be very emotional and theatrical, displaying a wide range of emotions: hysterical laughter, happiness, sadness, anger and crying.
I have over 30 years of vocal experience as a trained singer, studying with teachers in Washington, D.C., New York City, Atlanta, Georgia. I have had acting experience, from musicals since high school and opera experiences. My choral work continued in a number of different venues: singing several events that featured the Alvin Ailey Dancers; singing backup with Aretha Franklin at one of the two choral appearances made at the Kennedy Center Honors. I have worked with a number of professionals and gained a wealth of experience, understanding the importance of doing a job and doing it well. As an educator, I have worked with children as a music teacher, elementary and high school as well as on the collegiate level.I enjoy learning new things, being involved in different projects and teaming up with energetic and lively people working on a project until it is done correctly. When there is a job to do, I am fully focused and engaged on getting it completed in a timely fashion.
