Dr. Valerie Flower began her audio career with Tom Snyder Productions in Boston where she became a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Her character voices enrich the award-winning Fizz and Martina series, ABC’s Science Court, and many other exceptional audio projects.

Dr. Flower’s stage credits demonstrate a rich body of vocal work including the leading role in What Happened to the Dollar? at The Producer’s Club in New York, Lisa Kron in Well, Ivy in August: Osage County, Bev/Kathy in Clybourne Park and a variety of roles in the Vagina Monologues with Open Stage of Harrisburg. Dr. Flower created her one-woman-show, Between 2 Chairs, at Touchstone Theatre in Bethlehem, PA and performed it as part of Harrisburg's Flying Solo Festival. Between 2 Chairs was published by Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Her innovative theatre work with at-risk adolescents in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood resulted in a published handbook for educators. Dr. Flower was the first Theatre Artist in Residence at the Doctors Kienle Center, Hershey Medical School. Her work is included in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s 2015 publication of “The Narrative Playbook: The Strategic Use of Story to Improve Care, Healing, and Health.”

Dr. Flower was Professor of Theatre at Messiah College for fourteen years and is a two-time recipient of the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival award for meritorious direction.
