Turnaround Time

Depending on the scale of the project, I should be able to turn a simple commercial or reading around in 1-2 weeks. Audiobooks could be 1-2 months, all dependent on word count.

Being from Texas I have a southern drawl when speaking in a regular tone and can mask the drawl when speaking in other dialects. I enjoy big booming voices, but also can hit high tones clearly, making my voice range capabilities very well suited for many different accents.

I've been making my friends and family laugh with my impersonations and goofy sounds ever since I could remember. My wife believes that I would be a perfect candidate for voice overs and I've always loved trying to imitate people from all over the world (even though I've never been out of the upper 48).

I won an Irish impersonation contest on the radio once. I also had a guy buy me drinks at a bar one night for about 2 hours straight because he thought I was actually from Ireland. I finally started talking in my real voice (born and raised in Texas). It was a bet and a mean thing to do, but I was stupid in my 20's...

I've recorded the children's book "Goodnight Moon" as if Arnold Schwarzenegger we narrating. My wife thought it was hilarious. I read that book so many times to our 3 year old son I had it memorized.

I used to sing a lot of Karaoke and tried to imitate the actual artist. Merle Haggard, David Allen Coe and Johnny Cash were my favorites.

I play guitar a little and have an ear for music and tone. I can't read music, but let me hear a song for a few minutes and I can figure the chords out and start playing along. Being able to "hear" the thigh notes keeps my impersonations clean. I know when I'm getting off track from a voice.

Robin Williams was one of the greatest in my eyes and I loved Michael Winslow (black guy from Police Academy that did all the crazy sounds). I was amazed at their ability to impersonate anyone and that would be kind of the "root" that started me acting goofy and doing impersonations or trying to imitate a sound using just just my mouth. Add that with the facial expressions and body language of john Wayne or Jim Carey and impersonating characters in the animated movies of my youth like a Roger Rabbit, Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail, Robin Hood (Animated version) Jungle Book (also animated version), and the likes. I loved watching BBC when I was in my teens. I thought the British comedies were hilarious and would imitate them while watching.

"Who's line is it anyway" is one of my favorite shows. Those guys make me bust out laughing every time and I love to make people experience laughter the same way.

I love how an animator a can make a voice match a character and I would like to try and become one of those beloved cartoon character voices.

I feel like cartoons would be more appealing to me, but I'm up for any challenge.
