I have been doing voices---specifically the Alvin (or chipmunk) for over 30 years. While I haven't ever done cartoons or voiceovers, I do the voice as sort of a joke at times and people say I'm pretty good. I have discovered, with a few different inflections, that Alvin, a Smurf and a Munchkin sound about the same. This is the first time I've ever attempted to procure a position as a "voiceover" actress, or whatever you call it.
My normal voice is rather pleasant to listen to, although I do tend to get rather "bombastic" at times. I've done some impressions like Ethel Merman, Carol Channing and Mae West, but I don't consider them as polished as the Alvin voice is. I've submitted some readings to (Website hidden) for an audio reader but as yet haven't heard anything.
If you would like a sample of things I've done online, please see my website at (Website hidden). I have a semi-regular podcast I call "Webcasting in your PJ's".
I have a tendency to be a bit of a perfectionist when I do things like this. If it's not right to me, it won't be right to you. So I do tend to take my time and make sure it sounds good.
