Highlights

A Jeremy Irons / Ben Whishaw voice. Chris Middleton studied English and Drama at Kent University, where he appeared in productions by Howard Brenton, Bertolt Brecht, and others. Although primarily known today as an author, journalist, and robotics expert – with multiple appearances on BBC radio and TV – Chris has a parallel career as a singer/musician and has turned his speaking voice – a warm, calm, confident, authoritative, southern English voice – to radio (multiple BBC interview appearances), podcasting (multiple IT clients), public speaking, conferences, and event hosting, webinars, and voiceover/narration (animated films, and more), because people have often remarked on the beauty of his speaking voice. He has excellent mic technique and is very experienced in recording studios (his own and other people's) and in broadcast environments.

Chris' voice can have the clarity and authority of an RP/traditional BBC announcer voice, but with a warmer, more everyman quality. He can also turn his voice to dark, romantic tones, Pythonesque characters, comedy, transatlantic accents, and South London. Middle-aged and authoritative, but can also lighten his voice to late teens/early 20s.
