Edriss was born in Chicago, however, by high school, he toured Europe as a choir member and continued singing and playing guitar after his enlistment in the Marine Corps. Alexis remained in Japan to graduate from a national Japanese university and soon joined the Tokyo International Singers. In Japan, Eddie blended his love of music with his bilingual skills by directing Japanese singers and producing choral shows for music schools in Tokyo and Nagano. Upon returning to the U.S. in 2003, Alexis participated in choirs in his home outside Chicago, then in Carolyn Eynon’s Arizona Arts Chorale, after moving to Phoenix in 2004.
