My gift is voices..."parrotting" established works, witticism, accents, and making text come alive in the ear and imagination. While ninty percent of my work has been in supporting roles, my co-dependent personality flaw has oft earned the compliment "glue" or "mortar" that makes disparate pieces or scripts into a seamless whole.
My laughable resume, i.e. Tutoring, children's story character voices, High School & University theatre performance, technical and public speaker in the business setting and 26 year veteran of role playing campaigns should not be underestimated against the actual talent. I have a B.A. in Management and am returning to school to complete additional degrees in History and English Literature so that I may teach in 2014.
First, I am an exacting "Parrot" of movie role voices such as Brian Blessed's Duke of Exeter (Henry V, 1989), Kenneth Branaugh's King Henry (Henry V, 1989), Robert Morely as Louis XVI (Marie Antoinette, 1938), Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump, Damien Thomas's Father Martin Alvito (Shogun, 1980), Ioan Gruffudd's Horatio Hornblower (1998), Robert Lindsay's Sir Edward Pellew (Hornblower, 1998), Al Pachino's Detective Vincent Hanna (Heat, 1995), Denis Lawson's audio book version of Grand Admiral Thrawn from Timothy Zhan's novel Heir to the Empire (1991), and several Harry Potter characters narrated by Jim Dale.
I likewise have the ability to see and think from a child's perspective and have practiced many years on developing voices for book characters, especially Jane Yolen's "How do Dinosaurs..." series.
My interest in history and William Shakespeare's plays provides plenty of practice in turning coma inducing classroom drivel into interactive participation while tutoring or running role playing exercises or campaigns.
