As a teenager, after hearing enough of my friends suggest my voice should be on radio, I started to believe maybe they heard something in me I could not hear in myself.
With my father and two older brothers being clergyman who publicly speak as a profession, I began to think there might be a familial heritage influencing my speaking voice.
I had been the narrator for our annual church Easter Pageant which ran for seven consecutive nights and was attended by hundreds of people.
I accepted an associate pastor position with that local thriving community church my father founded. A long-tenured and beloved restaurant owner asked me if he could sponsor me teaching a lunch hour program on a local radio station. I accepted and did a live broadcast for two years each Friday. I started a mission church after two years in another city and sent the recordings from my Sunday sermons that were broadcast for another two years.
After spending ten years as a clergyman I worked for another fifteen years as an HR Trainer for a major medical device company. I conducted numerous trainings that required public speaking including monthly safety topics and metrics, train-the-trainer annual certification presentations, Six Sigma presentations and workshops, orientation presentations and one-on-one coaching.
Our company was celebrating with a 50th anniversary event. The IT team auditioned potential narrators to read a narrative on the history of the company. I won the audition and did the recording that was on continuous play accompanied by video for all the employees, government representatives and other VIPs who toured our facility.
Business Administration degree in Economics
Business Administration degree in Healthcare Management
Both required oral presentation disciplines. Top of my graduating class for ministerial internship program which was an intensive six month training with a master pastor who mentored me in all phases of pastoral competencies including public speaking.
Computer & Software
After a presentation my mentor clergyman told the 1000 parishioners in attendance, if I were to present about the subject matter of peeling carrots people would still be highly engaged.
After utilizing my voice within the confines of a sacred setting, I believe I would equally thrive in a secular environment. I hope to be that voice for your products or services that sounds credible, confident, competent, colorful, charismatic, calculated, believable, passionate and stable. I desire to be a voice that has a little touch of heaven in it.
