Some of the words people in the past have used to describe my voice would be bubbly. Childlike, I get the phone question "is your mom home?" quite often. Others poke fun saying I have a "Smurfette" voice. At the opposite end of the spectrum I've been told it is sexy, or seductive.
To me, its my voice. I have liked and disliked my voice at different times of my life. I love to talk, so I do hear it alot. My voice can be very animated at times, in part to talking alot with my hands. When my children were small and we were books every character would have a different voice. We all loved it, my kids laughing at my voices, me making the voices. Ive tried accents, most of the time they work. I am new to the industry, so I know there is alot to learn, and would be a very willing student. I have the voice of experience that some may not. After a diagnosis in 1976 of a rare "orphan" disease treated like cancer, called Histiocytosis, and MANY years to follow. Ive have been on and off chemo/radiation since 1982. People are amazed Im still fighting my Histio, but more than that, that I still have my "bubbly" personality that comes through in my voice.
