About Kyle
Kyle is a lifelong voice actor and muscian passionate about music and its impact on the world and the people around him. Kyle has performed in some fashion all his life. Be it singing in the family car on trips, performing in the school plays and choir, philharmonic choir, musical theatre, operetta, opera, German Lieder, Anthem singing in the US and Canada. Kyle’s voice is unique, he’s a Bass with a range from A below low C to the full Baritone range up to a G; all with the resonance of tenor. Early voice teachers tried to convince Kyle he was a Tenor and not a Bass, but that is certainly not the case. The other differentiator Kyle has is the energy and volume to support his vocal performances.
The study of music is a lifelong pursuit for Kyle. Starting in primary school, continuing with private lessons in Calgary with Francis and Gary Miller, continuing at University of Toronto Opera school and with various coaches in Toronto, Calgary and Seattle as well as various workshops with SaskMusic on composition, music and the law, and performance coaching. Kyle strives for excellence and impact in everything he does. Kyle is driven personally by constant learning and the performing arts and music have provided that outlet for him.

The transition to opera was an easy one for Kyle, performing in the Mikado. When Kyle moved to Toronto he continued in Opera with the Mississauga Opera Company and various Opera groups in Toronto. Opera performances include Marriage of Figaro, La Bohm, Turandot, Tosca and Dido & Aeneas. Dido & Aeneas being memorable as there was no stage at Trinity College on the University of Toronto campus. The audience for the performances were moved around to difference parts of the grounds and building. Kyle loves performing and particularly enjoys Opera as Opera really is the pinnacle of several arts; including makeup, costuming, dance, singing, as well as acting. Kyle will one day return to the stage and aspires to play Daddy Warbucks, in Annie and Tevye, in Fiddler on the Roof.
Kyle is also a dedicated anthem singer. Singing for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology at graduations and Men’s and Woman’s Hockey. In addition to the Seattle Thunderbirds, Regina Pats, and Regina Red Sox.

Being blind; it has taken Kyle a bit longer to become a proficient writer. Punctuation sadly remains a mystery as Kyle can’t see it. With music he does best with multi-sensory exploration of the content. To learn a song Kyle will listen to any available performances or work with a voice coach to identify the flow and patterns. Overtime Kyle fills in the details of the sheet music which is generally magnified on a 55” television that he uses as a computer monitor.
To see details in life Kyle uses photography and videography to fill in the details. When Kyle can’t see something in real time he will capture the event in pictures or video and play it back later on a big screen to enjoy details he couldn’t see.
During the holiday season Kyle and his wife Kathryn perform as Mr. and Mrs. Claus at charitable and corporate events across Alberta and Saskatchewan. Santa finishes the season Christmas Day at Camp Horizon, an Easter Seals Camp, for disabled adults from 18 to 80 years of age. When Kyle lived in Calgary, Kyle and Kathryn, would perform at most of the Calgary Zoo charitable shows with an audience of over 5000 a year.

To have a voice and express art with that voice people need to be multi-talented: it’s not enough to be proficient at performance, an artist must also be a technician, a make-up artist, a costumer, a web site developer, a marketer, and a photographer / videographer to be impactful. Art is a multi-channel experience supporting live performances, recordings or on-line experiences. Kyle can support his passion for singing and performing because he has obtained these capabilities in his personal, artistic, and professional experiences.
