Lara Massengill

I have been told that I have an extremely distinct, classic, Southern Accent. I hail from Southern Johnston County, which is about 35 miles SE of Raleigh, NC. I have been told by so many actors, producers, and directors that meet me, while I am doing my Location Manager job, that I should be doing Voice Over. I would at least like to get my voice out there, to see if I have a chance at VO work. Whenever I call people to scout for locations, and sometimes I haven't spoken to them in 5-10 years, they ALWAYS say, "oh my god, I totally remember you! How can I forget that voice?!" I feel that my voice would be good for audio books, promos, or perhaps a voice for animated characters. I've even had actor Walton Goggins to ask me to read his lines back to him, so that he could hear it from another Southern Voice. ( I worked on the series 'JUSTIFIED' for 4 seasons in locations dept). I have a very upbeat, positive, bubbly personality, and I take direction very well.

I have taken a voice over class in Burbank Ca with MJ Lallo. V/O artist.
I was asked 2 weeks ago by director/actress/writer, Lake Bell, to do VO in here feature film that has just wrapped production. She loves my distinct, Southern accent. I did end up doing a line for her in a scene.
I was also told by director McG, (from the Charlie's Angels series) that I should really look into doing VO work. I am presently a Location Manager in the film industry, and am told at least 3 times a week by industry professionals that I should look into doing VO work. So, I guess its time that I try it...

I have worked in production since 2000, and have been a location manager in the Film Industry since 2004.
I am a member of the LMGA, (Location Managers Guild of America). I understand each and every aspect of running set, and i understand what each and every dept head does on a feature film or television series. I have just currently finished working on the series "Supergirl" with Ali Adler, and in the past week, finished "What's the Point?" with director Lake Bell. Lake asked me to do VO in a scene for her while we were on location in Long Beach, CA. I am a member of TEAMSTERS LOCAL 399, but also have 2 vouchers for SAG

Service Description

I am dedicated, and will work hard to take the necessary steps needed to make sure that your voice project is just the way you like it. I know that recording sessions are costly, so its important that we work really hard to perfect each word or line that you need to promote your project.

Voice Over Clients

Just worked with actress/director Lake Bell on her recently wrapped feature entitled "Whats the Point?"

I don't have any other VO work, as I am just beginning. Another Director, Anna Lily Amirpour, asked me if I
could do VO work for her feature entitled " The Bad Batch" as well. Ive heard from Anna Purna Pictures that it is still in the editing phase. The VO would have been for narration as the film progressed. ( I also did the locations work on "Bad Batch" for Anna Purna's Megan Ellison as well)

So, I feel that I have great potential, but I just need to get my voice out there, so that others can perhaps help me with casting.
