About Maria Calfa-DePaul

Overview

I am extremely blessed to have been given a second chance using my voice. I couldn't sing or speak correctly for 8 years due to a cyst on my vocal cords. In September 2005 I had successful vocal cord surgery. I have been singing and using my voice to the fullest since then. I recorded a cd of original songs called Moments of Happiness which can be found on iTunes as well as cdbaby. I have been performing live for the past 10 years at various venues. I am a teacher of English as a second language as well.
I have done numerous demonstration and tutorial videos for YouTube where you can hear and see my voice in action.

Service Description

I have a background in theater and I teach ESL where I have to speak in many different inflections and adjust my voice for many dialogues.
My voice has a strong dynamic range where I can be as smooth as silk or grating as iron...

Experience

I have been recording myself for the past 6 years doing demonstration videos for YouTube for various music apps for the iPad and iPhone. I have several videos that have gotten positive feedback and continue to grow in it's audience. I also have recorded some tongue and cheek voice overs over music. I teach English as a second language and have great command of my voice and I have a lot of equipment that can provide music and background and sound effects as well. Getting my voice back has been a true miracle and in fact is better then before I ever had vocal issues. I have become someone of a spokes person in the ENT field and a huge proponent of taking special care of one's voice!!

Education

I have Bachelor's of Arts degree from Ramapo College of NJ in two fields: Psychology and Fine arts with a concentration in Music.
I also have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Long Island University
