Throughout my life, I have been told that I have a very pleasant and unique voice. While attending elementary school, I was oftentimes requested to speak over the intercom, and I was also chosen to narrate a very important end of the year school play.
As an adult, while serving as elementary school head secretary/bookkeeper, I was responsible for intercom announcements including school dismissal. In June 2013, I facilitated a local book gathering where I received many compliments from those in attendance.
Several years before, I spoke on a community public radio station, advertising vocational training programs. Many listeners told me that I did a great job so, I was not surprised when, a prominent doctor in the community told me that I would be good on a radio talk show. But most important, my daughter seemed to enjoy the stories that I read to her as a child. I suppose it was because, I made the stories very exciting by implementing voice inflections.
However, what really motivated my attempt to use my voice professionally, is when a gentleman traveling through Chattanooga overhead my conversation in the public library. He said that I had a lovely, identified himself as a voice actor, and suggested that I try voice acting. He recommended voices.com
