How To Work Toward Rising Star and Superstar Status

We’re very excited to share the official launch of two new achievement levels on Voices for Talent: Rising Star and Superstar. Rising Star talent have booked 50 jobs on Voices, with 10 jobs booked in the last year, and an overall 4-star rating and Superstar talent have booked 75 jobs on Voices, with 10 jobs booked in the last year, and an overall 4-star rating. Both of these are incredible accomplishments.

The new achievement levels are now recognizable by a badge on the talent’s profile, a visual status that showcases these talent as highly motivated, active, and successful talent on the platform. We want to recognize hard-working talent as they build their careers on Voices and work their way up to Top Talent status.

The new Rising Star and Superstar badges will initially appear within talent accounts and on talent profiles. We’ve also introduced a new Up and Coming filter in Search, which will allow clients to filter their results to see Rising Star and Superstar talent.

As with Top Talent, these new status levels are earned, not based on membership level, so if you meet the criteria of 50 or 75 jobs completed, 10 jobs completed in the last 12 months, and an overall 4-star rating, you’ll received the Rising Star or Superstar status, whether you’re a guest or premium member. As with Top Talent, to maintain these new status levels, talent must continue to book 10 jobs in the last 12 months to demonstrate active engagement on Voices.

We’re excited to launch these new status levels to help motivate and inspire you throughout your voice over journey on Voices, recognize your hard work and accomplishments, and mark the journey as you rise in your career on the platform.

Congratulations to those Voices members who have achieved these new status levels! If you have any feedback, please let us know at [email protected]

    Hi…
    Regarding the “new status”…
So…. what of the talent who have been with Voices long enough to have been awarded 400+ jobs?
(The ones who helped build the company?
Is their status the same as the new people who have only had 75 jobs awarded?

      Hey there Michella,

Thanks for your comment and question. To clarify, the criteria for Rising Star and Superstar status is 50 jobs and 75 jobs booked, respectively, with 10 of those jobs booked in the last year, and an overall 4-star rating. Top Talent is the highest level with 100-plus jobs booked. In the future, we may look at creating another status tier for those at an even higher achievement level, so we’re happy to pass along your feedback to our product team.

There are two filter options for clients in Search connected to achievement levels – Up and Coming encompasses Rising Star and Superstar talent; the Top Talent filter brings up Top Talent only. Top Talent also comes with perks like high visibility homepage placement and priority support.

All this being said, this is a brand new program, and we’ll monitor how it’s working for both our clients and our talent over time. We hope you’ll keep us posted and continue to share your feedback. Thank you.

I think this is grossly unfair. We all pay the same amount of money to be on this platform and you are actively directing work towards some artists over others. Please reconsider this and make the platform a level and fair playing field for everyone.

      Hey Blake,

We hear you and we know this can seem discouraging for someone just starting out on Voices. Keep in mind that the talent achievement filters in Search that allow for filtering by Top Talent or Up and Coming are simply two filter options. Clients may filter by these options some of the time, but overall they’ll still always be looking for the right talent fit for the job and the right talent for their budget. Sometimes that might be someone with an achievement level, sometimes it won’t be.

Search is also only one way clients look for or are connected to talent. The main way is still by posting a job (70% of our jobs come from posted jobs) and having our JobMatch algorithm match the best-suited talent to that job. The best way to ensure you’re matched through JobMatch is to make sure you’ve filled out your profile completely and uploaded as many quality demos as you can to demonstrate your various voice over skills. You then want to respond as quickly as possible when you’re matched to jobs, and provide a quality audition every time. This page contains more on JobMatch and some commonly asked questions: https://www.voices.com/company/technology/jobmatch

The goal with the achievement tiers is to provide talent members with a merit-based achievement level to work toward. On January 10 of this year, we also retired the Platinum membership, and this change aligns with the same goal of a platform based on an individual’s accomplishments, rather than on membership level. We want to give all talent more opportunities to book jobs.
Clients have always valued and continued to hire talent who follow direction, have pro audio quality, are suitable for the role, fit the job budget, and have great acting performance and they will continue to do so. All this being said, this is a brand new program, and we’ll monitor how it’s working for both our clients and our talent over time. We hope you’ll keep us posted and continue to share your feedback. Thank you.

I’m still fairly new to voice-over, yet this article is very helpful. I’m pushing that jobs will indeed come my way. Thank you for this insight, and keep up the good work.

I don’t see superstar status listed on anyone’s profile yet. This article says that “The new achievement levels are now recognizable by a badge on the talent’s profile.” I looked at a couple of talent who should have this status, and they are just listed as “top talent.” Any idea when the superstar status will roll out?

I don’t see a Rising Star listed on my profile. I completed 11 projects in under a year.
