About Us

alkabout Films is a renowned documentary filmmaker, in the area of Nature and Wildlife Films, as well as a special event developer for extreme sports. Helmed by veteran producer and naturalist Nisar Malik, Walkabout Films is one of South Asia’s leading field production companies.

Nisar Malik has built Walkabout Films on the back of over 20 years of hard journalistic experience with film crews in the remote areas of northern Pakistan in some of the most harsh and hostile environments imaginable. His foray into nature films was inspired initially by his work with Sir David Attenborough and the BBC in the making of Planet Earth in 2004, where he was essential in the filming of the Snow Leopard sequences. He has since gone on to establish Walkabout Films as the leading nature and wildlife filmmaker for the region, and beyond.

The WF team, headed by Nisar Malik, have in recent years completed projects for such distinguished organisations as National Geographic, Adventure One, the BBC Natural History Unit, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, and Channel 4, as well as multi-national companies, NGO's and UN agencies.
